Insects & Plants explores the quiet tragedy of biodiversity loss through animated photographic collages. Created from images of Central European flora and fauna, these symmetrical, kaleidoscopic compositions draw viewers into their intricate beauty—only to remind them, with subtle melancholy, of its impending disappearance. The animations playfully evoke memento mori, blending humor and sorrow as they highlight the fragile interdependence of insects and plants. A poetic yet urgent call to awareness, the series captures the creeping extinction often overlooked in everyday life.

ARTIST STATEMENT

In my artistic practice, I reflect on charged topics such as climate debates, stagnant political positions and fake news through aesthetic compositions, animations and video essays that are thought-provoking, sometimes make you smile and hopefully release energy.
